Cape Pioneer Trek = 6 Buffalo Bicycles

For learners in South Africa, a bike is more than transportation: it’s a vehicle that sets her on the path to higher learning. Because the more time she has for school, the greater the opportunity to make a difference for herself, her family, her community and the world as a whole.

Join me and Qhubeka in our effort to mobilize those children. I am riding theΒ Cape Pioneer Trek, a mountain bike race taking place over 7 days in the Karoo from 18-24 October. Each day will be a new challenge as I am accumulating the kilometres to reach the finish on day 7 at 541 km and 10,250 m ascent.

The goal is to raise enough funds to buy 6 bicycles, each at a cost of R2400, after the Cape Pioneer. Why 6 bicycles? Because 7 x 541 + 10,250 / 2,400 = 6.
